US Installation at FITC 2010 Toronto
US is an exploration of portraiture in the 21st century. Portraiture and photography serve not only as a means of preserving memory but have come to be an extension of the human faculty of vision itself. Images have become more and more the way we make sense of our world.
Enter your name and watch US crawl google for hits. A mosaic of images are spawned from cyberspace and assemble a relief from the image of the viewer via the webcam. Semantically, the images are related to you by name and also physically, as the position of the image in 3D space is intrinsically linked to the physical index of the light from your face coming in via the webcam. A number of information translations occur from analog to digital, to manipulated digital. Use the Wii to explore the unique portrait, comprised not only from you, but US.
(US will be online shortly - stay tuned!)
Dreams become Digital - Hot Planet - Flash Presentation

Towers from data

Anthropomorphized data
Composition #1
Composition #2
Composition #3
Hot Planet is a series of digital compositions centered around the theme of dreams and data visualization. Global warming data was used as an "artisitic seed" for the patterns of dots. By manipulating the math and various transformations interesting elements are created to become part of a final composition. Computers have facilitated a new method of depicting non-real or dream-inspired visualizations with great detail - down to the minute reliefs in the texture of virtual objects. 3D technologies are particularly fascinating in this regard. 3D in a way is perfectly suited to surrealism, allowing the vivid detail of a dream to be easily produced. The final compositions were an an attempt to merge the 3D dreamscape imagery with the global warming data visualizations.

Holiday Flash Ecard

We've always been fascinated by the northern lights. Who knew solar wind could make something so enigmatic and sublime? We wanted to create an icy feel that utilized some transparency and played with contrast. The snowflakes are composed of the aedesign logo - neato!
Online Stove Timer

The art of keywords: In an effort to increase the probability of someone finding the online stove timer to solve their timing problems, allow me to speak a bit on stove timers and how stove timing has changed the world of timing. In the beginning there was of course the sun which was the primary means of timing stove timers. Stove timers time around various stoves in the world. One stove often found that its timer was more stove like than most. It timed stove like behavior like no stove timer had ever timed. Timing stoves with stove timers is a practice that requires both focus and significant temporal awareness and stove timing. The practice of stove timing involves both stoves and timing devices. The timer times the stove online mainly. Using online stove timers not only saves time and stoves, it can help bring oneself to a sense of temporal enlightenment - a unique awareness of each and every stove timing minute that passes. Watching the stove timer time online is also an interesting experiment in temporal awareness in the online space. Online stove timer can time stove behavior without the aid of any large gaseous star - at least not directly.
